Vossloh-Kiepe begins Anglia Mk 3 work

Vossloh Kiepe has started the Mk 3 'refresh' project that will be carried out at Abellio Greater Anglia's Norwich Crown Point depot. The work involves a full strip-out of the carriage, which will then be rebuilt with new carpets and tables, LED lighting, and at-seat power sockets. Also included will be the fitting of controlled-emission toilets to replace the old style that discharges waste onto the track. This is the topic of an ongoing campaign by the RMT rail union to move to retention tanks. Completion of the refurbishment is set for October 2016, just as the Abellio franchise is due to end.
