The editorial in the May magazine mentions that the Nuneaton to Birmingham line should have been electrified so as to ease any problems that arise between Rugby and Birmingham. Another line that should have been done right from the start is that between Coventry and Nuneaton. It was on the original plans (as was Rugby-Leamington-Coventry), but was cancelled when the project overran its budget. This is a huge gap in the network given the number of minor lines that have been electrified over the years.
