Due to a failed unit in the southbound platform at Wakefield Westgate on March 16, the 11.45 Leeds-London service was cancelled and became the 12.15 instead, but without seat reservations. The train, propelled by Class 91 No. 91132, made an additional stop at Peterborough, but still managed to arrive in the capital only one minute late. On March 26, the 06.55 Skipton-London service was altered. After making the usual stops at Keighley, Shipley, Leeds and Wakefield, on arrival at Doncaster the train terminated and headed north to Edinburgh. CLASS 43 Nos. 43239 and 43300 were observed on April 2 passing Haywood Junction on the line between Shaftholme Junction and Knottingley with the 07.30 King's Cross-Edinburgh Waverley VTEC service, diverted due to engineering work on the ECML between Doncaster and Colton Junction. Class 67 No. 67003, in blue livery, was also seen at the same location, dragging Nos. 82230 and 91130 on the diverted 06.20 Edinburgh Waverley-King's Cross service. A HST, with power car Nos. 43208 and 43312, was also seen passing Haywood L/C with the diverted 08.30 King's Cross-Edinburgh Waverley service.
