Reprieve for Breich station

PROPOSALS to close Scotland's Breich station, on the Shotts line, have been abandoned. Network Rail undertook a consultation over closure because as part of electrifying the Shotts line, the station would need a new footbridge, waiting shelters and CCTV, which is reportedly set to cost £1.4million, yet was used by an average of 2.6 passengers per week and two trains each day.
