A 17-day national coronavirus lockdown in Wales from October 23 to November 9 has led to all of the country's tourist railways having to close. Travel is confined to essential journeys only following a'stay at home' message being announced by Wales First Minister Mark Drakeford as part of a 'circuit breaker' to stem the number of cases. Prior to the national lockdown, 17 areas of north and South Wales were affected by a local lockdown, with people unable to travel outside of their area, along with restrictions on indoor meetings and gatherings.
