Im Juni 2012 fand erneut das Eisenbahntechnische Kolloquium (ETK) des Fachgebiets Bahnsysteme und Bahntechnik der Technischen Universität Darmstadt statt. Die Veranstaltung in Kooperation mit dem Verband Deutscher Eisenbahn-Ingenieure e.V. (VDEI) informierte über Innovationen, Hintergründe und aktuelle Fragestellungen auf dem Gebiet der Schienenfahrzeuge von der Anforderung bis hin zur Zulassung. 80 Teilnehmer aus allen Bereichen rund um den Eisenbahnsektor trafen sich in den historischen Räumlichkeiten des Georg-Christoph-Lichtenberg-Haus in Darmstadt zu einem fachlichen Austausch.%Owing to the persistent difficulties in the procedure for gaining approval for railway vehicles, it was this complex topic that was addressed this year by the Railway Technology Colloquium at the Tech-nische Universitat Darmstadt. The railway sector is reliant on dependable and efficient processes for the design, manufacture and approval of railway vehicles, from the initial invitation to tender, right through to final commissioning. Considerable delays have arisen in the approval procedure because the division of tasks and responsibilities among the parties involved has not been clear in all respects. In addition, the colloquium was also given an insight into the approval procedure in the aviation sector.
