William Malone, a retired superintendent with the RCMP, continued his path of helping others when he took on the task of training police officers in war-torn Afghanistan. The experience created a host of memories that he captures in his new book Cops in Kabul: A Newfoundland Peacekeeper in Afghanistan, which was published this past autumn. "When I came back from Afghanistan in 2012 I had no intention of writing a book," said Malone. "I had done talks to groups about the police contributions to the Afghan mission. It was something few people knew anything about."
