Toys for the North Program Spreads Happiness in Northern Communities

There Will Be A Lot of happy, smiling faces in Canada's far northern communities this Christmas, as more children than ever receive toys through the RCMP's Toys for the North program. In December 2010, $50,000 worth of toys donated by Canadian companies and the public were delivered by the RCMP to children living in 43 northern communities. This year, the Canadian toy industry and the Toronto Zoo pushed that amount even higher. On Nov. 14, 2011 at a Toys for the North press conference in Toronto, an incredible $80,000 worth of donated toys was unveiled.
