Radiation Detection Technology From ATK's D-tect Systems Division

The security threat faced by law enforcement has changed drastically. We are in a technologically-advanced environment where materials and devices once considered science fiction are now an everyday fact of life. ATK's radiation detection systems are one more vitally important weapon in the struggle against our enemies. Although these systems appear complex, with training and handling, they become easy to understand and employ. Excellent and easily understood instructional manuals come with all units. These units are not inexpensive. However, considering the protection they offer, they are reasonably priced. As a first line detector, the mini rad-D is a 'must have' for law enforcement agencies. Departments with responsibility for areas of port or passenger entry will find the rad—D necessary. The analysis capability provided by the rad-ID justifies its purchase - I suspect large agencies will purchase several and strategically locate them throughout their jurisdictions. Smaller and rural agencies may find one or several rad-ID units may be purchased cooperatively and made available on a mutual aid program. All ATK radiological detection system units are fundable by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) grants. In addition to onsite training by ATK representatives, grant writing assistance is also available.
