Third Holland class patrol vessel delivered

On 11 April 2012 the third of four Holland class Oceangoing Patrol Vessels, Friesland, built by Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding for the Royal Netherlands Navy, was transferred to the Defence Materiel Organization of the Ministry of Defence of the Netherlands.After delivery Friesland was due to start an extensive testing and work-up programme. A Thales Integrated Mast Module (IMM) will be installed early in 2014.The four vessels in the Holland class are 108m in length with a breadth of 16m and a displacement of approximately 3750tonnes. They provide hangar space and landing facilities for a NH90 helicopter or equivalent type.
