Russian naval systems enjoy stable demand in the global arms market. Currently they account for an 18-percent share in the total amount of sales made by Rosoboronexport, the sole Russian state arms exporter. Its major regular customers are countries from the South-East Asia and Asia-Pacific region, although Moscow strives also to secure a foothold in new markets, for instance in Latin America, where several countries are looking to upgrade their navies at a time, and it is, first of all, an ambitious Brazil for whom projection of its growing power is impossible without a strong fleet.
