EOC looks to China for new floatels

Singapore-headquartered offshore services provider EOC Limited has turned to China for a series of new accommodation vessels for its fleet. In July this year, EOC entered into a MOU with Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding, China for the construction of an accommodation vessel. Valued at approximately US$32.5 million, the vessel will be able to accommodate up to 70 offshore workers and is intended to meet ABS' classification requirements. Later in the month, EOC confirmed that it had also agreed a deal with Chinas Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry, for the construction of two floating accommodation units, worth approximately US$72 million, excluding interior / furniture costs.
