Gangway simulation project is go

Norwegian solutions provider Kongsberg Maritime, which has provided the DP systems aboard both Edda Fides and Edda Fortis (see page 13), has initiated a new R&D project to investigate the ways in which 'walk-to-work' gangway technology can be optimised to benefit accommodation vessels in the offshore sector. Assisting Kongsberg in this project are compatriot shipowner 0stensjo and the Norwegian Marine Technology Research Institute, better known as Marintek, with financial support provided by the Norwegian government as part of its wider Maritime Activities and Offshore Operations (MAROFF) initiative.
