Delivered on schedule and within budget, Raden Eddy Martadinata, Indonesia's first SIGMA 10514 Perusak Kawal Rudal (PKR) frigate, was handed over to the Indonesian Navy at PT PAL shipyard in Surabaya where the vessel was assembled. The 105m, 2,365tonne frigates is designed to undertake a wide range of missions in and around the waters of Indonesia, an archipelago nation made up of over 18,000 islands. The ship's primary missions include anti-air, anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare, however, they are also equipped for maritime security, search and rescue, and humanitarian support tasks.
