Sorolla: a new ferry for Trasmediterranea's Balearics routes

David Tinsley visits the first of two new ferries for the Spanish operator Cia Trasmediterranea, introduced as part of an extensive fleet renewal programme. Although the Barreras-built Sorolla is primarily planned for the Barcelona to Palma de Mallorca route, she has been carefully dimensioned so that she can also enter Mahon on Minorca and other ports served by this company. Barreras supplied the plans for a near-identical ship Fortuny, also recently completed, by the Puerto Real yard of IZAR.
