ASV designs combine speed and load carrying capacity

During the last 12 months, two manned models of Air Supported Vessel (ASV) fast platforms, suitable for commercial and naval use, have been successfully tested by SES Europe AS (SE), as part of the EU 5th Framework R&D project EFFISES. The patented ASV concepts, owned by Effect Ships International AS (ESI), will, the company believes, be suitable for a wide range of applications and should be considered by naval and paramilitary end users for their favourable performance and capabilities. Four different ASV main configurations have been investigated, covering ASV monohull and multi-hulls, the latter with a considerable amount of SSPA tank testing to back up the theoretical work.
