Waertsilae inaugurates new Trieste facilities

Wartsila has inaugurated new modern facilities for the Delivery Centre Trieste and adopted a new manufacturing concept to boost capacity and flexibility.Waertsilae said it had invested €18 million in its Italian manufacturing, assembly, and testing plant. The new engine production facilities and new Waertsilae Land & Sea Academy Training Centre were inaugurated in September in the presence of the Finnish ambassador in Italy, Pauli Maekelae, Waertsilae's president, Ole Johansson, and Waertsilae management. The company said the investment would raise the capacity of Delivery Centre Trieste to a level that would meet future market requirements and flexibility needs and that supported its growth targets.
