UASC chooses Marorka for energy management

Icelandic energy management firm Marorka has won a contract to deliver ship performance monitoring systems to United Arab Shipping Company (UASC), with a view to optimising fleet performance and reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions. The contract follows trials undertaken with Marorka systems on two UASC vessels and will see the energy management solutions deployed across the existing fleet and on newbuilds. Wallee Al Dawood, chief operating officer, UASC noted that the Marorka Wallboard had delivered "verifiable fuel savings and significant eco-efficiency benefits, as well as greater transparency".
