The invention relates to an energy management system, comprising at least two terminals and at least one central device, which are connected to each other via an energy distribution network, wherein each of the at least two terminals has an energy storage unit, an energy conversion unit, and a communication unit. The central device has a central communication unit and a central processor, wherein the communication units of the terminals are designed such that they transmit the energy demand or the energy supply of the energy storage unit of the respective terminal to the central communication unit. The central processor is designed such that it calculates from the transmitted energy demand or energy supply how the energy is to be distributed between the terminals, and it calculates values for the electrical parameters to be applied to the energy distribution network. The central communication unit is designed such that it transmits the calculated values to the communication units of the terminals. The energy conversion units of the terminals are designed such that, in accordance within the calculated values, they supply energy from the respective energy storage unit to the energy distribution network, or they feed energy from the energy distribution network to the respective energy storage unit according to the calculated values.
