BUILDING FOR EDUCATION

In March, Seabees with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5's Detail Pohnpei completed an important renovation at Sokehs Pah Elementary School. The renovations give sustainable upgrades to a previously uninhabitable building, and provide the ability to allow students to continue their education using computers, which is new to the school's curriculum. The team at Sokehs Pah Elementary is composed of teachers and over 140 students from the island of Sokehs in kindergarten through eighth grade. The renovations the Seabees completed include a new library and computer lab. They installed a new roof, walls, two split air conditioning units,: and vinyl composite tile in addition to improvements to the head facility inside the school compound.
