A New Approach Brings NEW OPPORTUNITIES

The Pantex Plant has long been a critical facility within Americas defense portfolio. Located 17-mi northeast of Amarillo, Texas, the complex dates back to 1942, when it was first commissioned in the buildup to World War Ⅱ as a site to load and pack artillery shells and bombs. Its mission has evolved over the decades and today remains as important as ever, serving as the primary location for final assembly, dismantlement and maintenance of the nation's nuclear weapons stockpile. Designated as the High Explosive Center of Excellence for Manufacturing by the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), the Pantex Plant fabricates and assembles high explosive components and performs high explosive research and development. Pantex is one of eight production, laboratory and test facilities in the Nuclear Security Enterprise of NNSA.
