Ultralife Corp., in association with Lynn-tech Inc. and the Army's Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC), completed a one-year development effort and a scheduled delivery of its prototype MRC-201 fuel-cell charger to the CERDEC facility at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., for further testing and evaluation. Designed as a complement to other renewable energy systems such as solar and wind power, the MRC-201 fuel-cell charger runs on cartridges that contain sodium boro-hydride, which when mixed with water generates hydrogen, which when consumed by the fuel cell generates electricity.
