Luck favors the prepared...or so the old adage goes. I'd prefer to think most engineers make their own luck. Though it's more likely they calculate the probability of success with different courses of action and pursue the one that makes the most sense. All around the world, American military engineers are working with foreign military engineers, emergency responders, civilian populations and others to ensure mission success now and in future conflicts or contingencies. Does a little bit of luck come into play relating to their success? Probably. But it's more likely we are just really good at what we do.
