As any craftsman knows, no tool stays sharp forever. Time and general wear and tear will dull even the best tools, and so they will need to be sharpened to operate at peak efficiency. In much the same way, military engineers need to constantly sharpen their skills to stay ready and able. That means undergoing a healthy regimen of training programs of both core capabilities and secondary requirements to make sure that when they are called upon, they are able to perform at the peak of their ability. This issue of Military News provides a glimpse at how service-members across all branches are getting the training that they need, despite the challenges of the day, to make sure the mission gets done when, and where, it matters most.
