To maintain freedom of the seas and protect our homeland, the Department of the Navy monitors a comprehensive set of threats to our national security, and commands an impressive arsenal of resources to respond to these threats, including a strategically-positioned fleet of vessels across the globe. Energy is the resource that makes this work possible. The U.S. Navy's ability to maintain our freedom starts ashore, and resilient energy to power that mission is the cornerstone of our capabilities. From loading missiles onto destroyers to VFA-106 Gladiators conducting training for the F/A-18A-D Hornets and F/A-18E/F Super Hornets, energy facilitates servicemen and women preparing for missions at sea.
