SMALL MODULAR REACTORS

The U.S. Army Nuclear Power Program was considered a solution in search of a problem. In 1975, the eighth and final Small Modular Reactor (SMR) was shut down. In the intervening decades, however, Army energy needs have grown exponentially in both importance and scale. A valid need for SMRs now exists today.
