BALPA is currently conducting the 'Fully Awake' campaign against the adoption by the European Union of the proposal submitted by Mr Brian Simpson MEP for Subpart Q to EU-OPS, currently going through the European legislative development process. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) welcomes the participation of BALPA in the debate on European Flight Time Limitations, and recognises that the position adopted by BALPA may differ from that of the CAA. However, the CAA has some concerns that certain statements attributed to it in the 'Fully Awake' campaign are either incorrect or could be misleading to BALPA Members. The CAA is grateful for the opportunity to clarify its position.
