As each Christmas draws near, Father Christmas contem-plates when he is going to retire. Since the introduction of the Pensions Act 2004, he has concentrated more on the likelihood of it being sooner rather than later. Over the years, he has built up a large pension fund and his wife Mary Christmas has several pensions that certainly need consideration in view of the Life Time Allowance (LTA) that will be applicable from 6th April 2006 (A-Day). In addition, he has to give consideration to his many helpers, especially his faithful reindeer, the elves in Lapland and especially Tiny Tim, who has worked in the UK at Father Christmas's summer ranch. His main concerns are the protection that will be afforded to those who have funds in excess of the LTA at A-Day and he has contacted his Independent Financial Adviser for some guidance. He is well aware, that over the years he had not always left the presents that had been requested by IFAs and it was with relief that his wife Mary Christmas confirmed his IFA, Orson Kart, had always received the presents of his choice. He had always respected Orson Kart's advice, especially in respect of pensions, because he always seeed to have everything in the right order.
