Biometric technology offers the potential of a plethora of benefits to airports and passengers alike - increased airline security, shorter check-in queues, and no need for a wallet full of plastic cards and easily forgettable passwords. Unsurprisingly security has dominated the agenda as airports across the world look to tighten procedures ever further in light of terrorism and organised crime. Only in August, the Indira Gandhi International Airport at Delhi, India, announced a raft of measures, including biometrics, in the wake of the terrorist incidents including the botched attack on Glasgow Airport.
