ITS NOT aBOUT THE BIKE

I completed Land's End to John o'Groats during a quiet period at work seven years ago. Courtesy of easyJet's part-time winter working, I had some more spare time at the end of March, and a peek at a map seemed to imply that the length of France is shorter than the length of Britain. So potentially an easier ride and more fun…rnI planned to route south-eastwards to Dijon. From there, I would soon reach the Saone river, which joins the Rhone in Lyon.This drains into the Mediterranean in the south of France, therefore following it should give a gentle downhill all the way to the sea. I had been advised also that north to south would be slightly favourable wind-wise.
