MARGARET KATHLEEN MAUREEN PECNIK (1951-2017)

Maggie began a long and distinguished career with BALPA in April 1973 as a personal assistant to the BOAC section of the Association. Following her marriage to Captain Tony Pecnik in 1977, Maggie was asked by Mark Young - BALPA's then General Secretary - to set up the Association's first office at Gatwick in the former terminal building, The Beehive. She worked tirelessly to build up BALPA's membership and presence, a role she continued to develop after organising the move to the new Gatwick office of Little Orchards in 1992.
