When Cambridge University's Seeley Library was recently refurbished, it wanted to replace the old 18W fluorescent desk lamps while retaining the hoop-like fixtures. The solution was a new fibre optic system created by Absolute Action, which was easily incorporated into the original fittings, by threading the fibres through the slender support structure. A total of 33 Spectralux 6000 light boxes, each with a 150W metal halide lamp, were used - the two heads per desk created the stipulated average of 400 lux on each desk surface. Contact 020 871 5005.
