Conference Diary 2: Nigel Parry

The papers keep saying the world is becoming a smaller place - and although I was looking forward to the conference with much interest, I was also looking forward to meeting some old faces and catching up with the latest ILE news (gossip). To that end, flying up from Birmingham with some old colleagues made the conference begin all the sooner. The weather forecast had been poor but yet again we came through with bright sunshine (at least most of the time) that now seems a regular aspect of our annual expedition. What appeared to be Edinburgh's mini-version of the Dome was our home for the next couple of days and an excellent exhibition was always available to keep us entertained and informed during the breaks.
