In this second series of memoirs, David Webster, David Pay/or and Mike Simpson look back over their time in the ILE - and in particular their respective years as President. Some of my fondest memories of the Institution are of the many conferences I have attended since Harrogate in 1958 — and not surprisingly my personal highlight is Blackpool 1987. Although this conference saw the launch of the first Protect A Vital Asset leaflet and was opened by John Banham, Director General of the CBI, I have come to accept that it will always be remembered for just one of its features.
