Four Goals

The GLCC's four primary goals represent significant guideposts to continue moving the country toward more sustainable development. They also constitute a signal of Mexico's commitment to continue playing a leadership role in combating climate change, according to the country's differentiated responsibilities and appropriate capacities. Achieving each of the four goals will require significant action at every level of government and will require a variety of policy approaches. It will require putting into effective operation the federal and inter-secretariat policy coordinating systems established by the GLCC. The goals are mandatory and enforceable. The public can and shall expect that the different levels of government prepare, plan, and implement policies to reach the goals and move the country toward greener economic growth and a healthier environment.
