A Report Card on Sustainability Reporting by Firms: Is It Sustainable?

The 30th anniversary of Our Common Future, more commonly known as the Brundt-land Report, provides an opportunity to reflect on the state of the global sustainability movement, which the report is widely credited with jump-starting. Brundtland called for "development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of the future generations to meet their own needs." But are we there yet? Are we even close? Those are the questions that sustainability reporting seeks to answer.
