Engineers Ireland launches new Mediation and Arbitration Procedures

Engineers Ireland has launched a new suite of dispute resolution documents and these are now available free on its website. The documents were formally launched by the Honourable Mr Justice Peter Kelly at a well-attended gathering in the Lecture Theatre at Engineers Ireland headquarters recently. Those attending were also addressed by John Power Chartered Engineer, Director General, Engineers Ireland and Ciaran Fahy Chartered Engineer, Chairman of the Engineers Ireland Dispute Resolution Board. The procedures comprise Mediation Procedure 2011, Arbitration Procedure 2011 and 100-Day Arbitration Procedure and all are suitable for a very broad range of commercial disputes. These procedures complement the existing Engineers Ireland arbitration and conciliation procedures and also the recently published Pupillage Procedure 2011. All of these documents are available at www.engineer-sireland.ie/services/dispute-resolution Judge Kelly complimented Engineers Ireland on its work in this area and went on to say that he could see a significant demand for the Mediation and 100-Day procedures in particular.
