Study: South Offers Fertile Ground For Efficiency Gains

Aggressive deployment of local, state and federal energy efficiency policies in the South could meet all of the region's expected growth in energy demand by 2020 while slashing utility bills by $41 billion, creating nearly 400,000 new jobs and saving nearly 9 billion gallons of water, a new study released Monday by researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Duke University's Nicholas Institute concludes.
