FERC rejects Colorado utilities’ joint dispatch proposal

Despite arguments by the sponsoring utilities that it would provide efficiencies similar to those seen in the western en­ergy imbalance market recently launched by the California grid operator, the Fed­eral Energy Regulatory Commission has rejected a joint dispatch plan proposed by Public Service Co. of Colorado and two other utilities in the state, siding with op­ponents who complained the plan raised competitive and cost issues.
