Retailers' concerns ignored in review of palm oil standards

Draft revisions to Roundtable of Sustain able Palm Oil (RSPO) rules do not include stronger requirements on greenhouse gas emissions, pesticides and peatland that major European buyers and retailers had requested. RSPO is the world's leading agricultural commodities sustainability standard but groups including retailers and environ mental NGOs feel it falls short in impor tant areas (ENDS Report 443, PP 34-39).
