Dairy sector boost to industry's voluntary water-saving scheme

A voluntary water-saving scheme for the food and drink sector, the Federation House Commitment, is expanding to include the dairy sector. Six major dairy companies have committed to a 20% reduction in their water use by 2020 by joining the Federation House Commitment. The move is part of a new partnership agreement between trade body Dairy UK and the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) which manages the commitment. As part of the new deal, six Dairy UK members operating across 12 sites have signed up to the commitment, including Aria Foods, BV Dairy, Dairy Crest, First Milk, Mueller Dairy and Miiller Wiseman Dairies.
