L'OREAL DRIVES DOWN CARBON EMISSIONS WITH RENEWABLES

L'Oréal has cut its absolute carbon emissions by 43% and 102,200 tonnes of CO_2 since 2005, according to its latest sustainability report published on 10 July. The French cosmetics group reduced absolute emissions by 7% in the last year alone, from 145,500t of CO_2 in 2012 to 135,500t in 2013. It also sourced 26% of its energy from renewable sources, an increase of four percentage points on the previous year. These achievements put the company on track to meet its 2020 target to reduce absolute emissions by 60% under its 'sharing beauty with all' sustainability strategy.
