The call for evidence on air quality, issued jointly by four Commons' committees, has received a strong response, illustrating the depth of feeling for and against measures to reduce pollutant emissions. Almost 160 organisations and individuals - from carmakers to teachers and the Faculty of Public Health - have submitted comments, some making their arguments in considerable detail.
