In recent years, much has been made of the connections between contemporary fashion and modern architecture. We have witnessed collaborations between famed designers and architects, the expansion of designer boutiques, while numerous exhibitions have explored the visual and material cultures of fashion. The originality of the essays contained in The Places and Spaces of Fashion, 1800-2007 is in the way they delve 'inside' - to search out the interior places and spaces of fashion.
