PUNCTUATING CLEOPATRA

摘要

This note proposes a change in the punctuation of the last stanza of Horace, Odes n1.37 (Nunc est bibendum), in order to restore the sense understood by the scholiast nand the punctuation as it was accepted until 1553. This removes certain difficulties ninherent in the currently received punctuation.
