Robert Morrison and the Protestant Plan for China

The focus of this study is the curriculum created by David Bogue at the London Missionary Society (LMS)'s Gosport Academy, which provided the "template" for the mission strategy followed by Robert Morrison and William Milne in opening the first Protestant missions in China and Malacca. Christopher Daily makes a significant contribution by examining this previously unexplored preparatory background. Any further study of Morrison and Milne (and other Gosport graduates) will need to take Daily's work into account.
