Jiamei plans more can and bottle lines

Management at Jiamei Food Packaging in China has approved plans to build a two-piece beverage can line and a separate one to produce aluminium bottles. The plans, backed by the company's directors on 13 May, are for the construction of a D&I beverage can line with capacity for 1.5 billion units a year at the National High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province. The facility will also include a production line capable of making 100 million aluminium bottles a year. The total investment is expected to run to 500 million yuan (US$77.5m).
