The development and construction team of British Gas Properties has been formed over the last three years to deal with the regeneration of around 1000 former British Gas sites, many of which were gas works. The company's best office site, both from a regional and local perspective, is Leeds City Office Park, and it has a greater tenant demand than comparable regional centres. The decision to build the first 7000m~2 phase out of a consented area of 21,000m~2 was largely the product of perceived tenant demand, the shortage of office supply and the desire to put BGP on the map.
