Even a rather naff building near to where I live glows like a rose-coloured ice lolly at dusk. Despite its clunky geometry and dumb cladding, despite itself, it is briefly beautiful. Most buildings that ache to seduce only seem strenuous and fail to impress. I don't know why - a natural human inclination to refuse to be embraced by rowdy strangers? The hydra-surge of architecture lunging for a snog mostly repels us.
