BATH LAUNCHES GREEN DIPLOMA AND MASTERS

'I have been hopping up and down about environmental teaching for a number of years now,' says Doug King, founding partner of King Shaw Associates and visiting professor of environmental design at Bath University. "There is a huge demand for expertise and universities are not offering the industry any graduates.' The new MSc and diploma course in environmental engineering at Bath University will attempt to address this shortage by drawing in graduates and practitioners from related fields. Bath used to run an undergraduate course in environmental design, but ended the programme in the 1990s due to lack of uptake. However, the recent resurgence of interest and enthusiasm for the subject has led to this new course, which King has been helping to co-ordinate since 2005.The first intake of students will be in September this year.
